Howdy! It’s a cold day here in North Mississippi. The wind is howling and I have the beginnings of sinus pressure. ‘Tis the season to have colds and flu-like symptoms. I am sitting on the couch with Chunk. He’s made it clear that he prefers the warmth of the propane heater to the chilly temp outdoors. I agree with him.
NaNoWriMo, my attempt at it has been successful. The rewriting and reworking of any projects has capitulated into the Abyss of Nothingness. On the other hand, my life has sped up. I’m enjoying being busy and working on several other projects instead of bashing my head against the desk in frustration.
Who said you can’t have your cake and eat it too?
I’ve never been a sucker for the holidays. Even when receiving gifts, I just never cared for the hustle and bustle of rude shoppers. The holidays seems to bring out the absolute worst in some folks. The spectrum ranges from discourteous drivers to aggressive buggy wielders. Rudeness seems to be the flavor of the day.
Still, I find myself in the throes of the holiday season. I look forward to spending time with the special folks in my life. Hot coffee, or hot chocolate, and tons of company seems to be what the doctor ordered for me. Looking back, I realize I lost many years of joy by denying myself the pleasure of the holidays. I intend to change that this year.
As I wind this piece of writing down, I want to take the time to wish you all a joyous holiday season. I pray it’s jam-packed with tons of joy, the lilt of laughter, and a surprise or two. As always, be blessed and take care. From my house to yours, Happy Holidays.
