Howdy from North Mississippi! I’m just sitting down to write a post for my blog. This morning was full tilt. My wife and I went down to the VA first thing this morning for some lab work. Then, we made our way toward home, making intermittent stops along the way.
Last night, I rewrote and fleshed out Burn. It’s sitting comfortably at 2,002 words. That’s without a second glance for mistakes. I’m sure after editing it’ll be closer to 1,000 words. It’s an old story that needs to be finished. Since I’m not sitting down for hours per day to write, when I finish a story it needs to be done.
So, with that in mind I need to finish the following: Holes, The Recluse, Burn, and Goldilocks and the TTB. If I can get those done, I will count this year a success. Furthermore, NANOWRIMO has a camp in April and July, along with the National Novel Writers Month. Plus, I’ll attend a writers conference in Birmingham in June.
It’s looking like another productive year in the old writing habit. I tell myself every year, “This is the year we send something in for publication! We’re drafting story after story, it’s time to finish one.” And every year I chicken out.
Once again, I’m sending something in. Maybe. If I can finish something in the allotted amount of time. It’s time to take that next step, and for once, I’m ready to do it.
You guys take care,
Freeman
