Superstitious?! Prompt answer…
I don’t think so. That doesn’t mean that I am not careful though. For instance, my ex-wife is from Hawaii. She told me of a path where Pele walks, and if you happen to walk the path, he warns you off.
Now, that makes no sense in my mind, and being young and arrogant I said as much. “I’ll go walk that stupid path,” I sneered. “Okay,” she laughed. “I will drop you off, and you can call me to come get you-IF you survive.”
I didn’t walk the path. Apparently, my machismo and hypocrisy only goes so far. No, I am not superstitious, but I don’t tread where I’m not supposed to either.
I am a good ole country boy residing in North Mississippi. I love to read, fish, hunt, hike and go to garage sales. Flea markets are a passion of mine. I read anything, but some of my favorites are: Dean Koontz, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare, and I possess a fondness for the writings of William Faulkner and Mark Twain. If I am forced to choose, I prefer baseball to football. I enjoy Alabama football (Roll Tide)! My baseball teams include: The Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox.
I am divorced, the father of two daughters and live by myself with Chunk and Roscoe (my dogs).
I’m a retired soldier. Writer and full – time coffee addict. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I joined the Army at 28 for a life of adventure and travel. Interests include: Reading, walking my two pups, Casanova and Chunk, spending time with my wife Chassidy, and trying to pen the next great American novel. I am on Instagram under Freeman’s Front Porch Musings. I sometimes do Twitter under LarryF7371.
